About CCSP

FreshmanCCSP will be different from other pharmacy schools. From the beginning, the concept of CCSP was to exist to serve the community—we are rooted in the Valley! The unique partnership between the community and CCSP will forge a new generation of leaders and educators that will promote positive change here at home. Just as our community is multi-faceted and complex, CCSP will reflect the demographics of our community, recognizing that the Valley is a reflection of cultures and communities around the globe.

CCSP, by its very location, has positioned itself to not only significantly impact the health of our region but also, the health of our world by tapping into the countries of origin of our residents. We have sometimes overlooked our biggest strength—our people. CCSP intends to take full advantage of the knowledge and connectivity of our residents. The possibilities for positive change are just beginning. The Valley’s “small-town feel” presents us with an incredible opportunity to take advantage of the knowledge of cultures across the globe and work together to build a collaboration that will benefit the healthcare industry of our state and contribute to our economic engine here at home and abroad.

CCSP will provide a comprehensive educational program leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. With an inclusive curriculum both clinically and academically, we seek to meet local, regional, national and international needs for qualified pharmacists. We are dedicated to the education of qualified students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, both locally and from around the world. CCSP understands that patients will benefit from greater diversity in medical professions by being afforded the opportunity to work with someone from their community who will have a greater awareness of his or her special needs.

MISSION STATEMENT
The academic mission of CCSP will be to increase diversity in the student body, to promote humanitarian values locally and internationally, to foster a collaborative, cross-disciplinary agenda that will benefit the future of the region, and to cultivate research productivity resulting in national stature. CCSP is dedicated to educating and providing services to a target population of students fully reflecting the demographics/characteristics of the region. CCSP’s commitment to promoting diversity and cultural competence intersects with industry’s belief that the training of such pharmacists id directly linked to improvements in the quality of healthcare in the United States.
